This is a two day blog hop so please come back tomorrow to see all the projects the talented ladies in this hop have made. Make sure that you comment on everyone’s posts and follow everyone to be eligible for the Candy that was donated by our fabulous sponsor www.gingersnapscraps.com make sure you hop over and say hello there too.
For my Project today I decided to re-purpose something I had laying on my desk. I recently pulled out a wood mounted backround stamp that I rarely used because it was hard to line it up with the block in the way. I decided to pull it off the block and use it with a clear block.
So I decided to use the wood block to make a picture block. And seeing as hockey is HUGE in my house, my whole family are huge Chicago Blackhawk fans, my favorite player is Jonathan Toews the Captain of the Blackhawks I decided to use him on the block.
This is the block that I used.
This is the block after I covered it on both sides with Black Card stock.
I used Rubber Cement to attach ribbon around the outsides of the block. I had some sitting on top of my desk and decided that would be the best available adhesive to use.
DISCLAIMER: I don't own nor do I claim to own this picture, I found this picture on Goggle and printed it off my computer. This is an old photo before Jonathan Toews became Captain.
I cut the picture down to side and matted it on a piece of scrap Red card stock and then attached it to my block.
I used the Sports Mania Cricut Cartridge to cut this puck at 2 inches. I wrote in White Gel pen Chicago Blackhawks, Toews, and the # 19.
I used Foam Tape to adhere the puck to my photo block.
I decided after I put the puck on it that the edges needed something else to I used my ATG Gun to adhere some sheer black ribbon to the edges as well.
Thank you for stopping bye, hop on over to Cathie's Blog to see what she's made you today.

Hi Carla,
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great idea! Love how you repurposed the stamp block. Very, clever! ;) I love Chicago ANYTHING cause that's where my family's from (cept me, born & raised in Colorado - but still...) Hockey is really the only sport I can actually enjoy watching so I totally appreciate your project! So sorry I didn't get to do my 2nd day post sweetie, I am STILL fighting a MIGRAINE!!! :( Going on the third day now... Thanks again for letting me join you!
